Story

Meet Tennessee, Texas and Montana! There 3 siblings just arrived to West Vancouver through our Drives for Lives transfer program. While they are new to us, we know it's not going to take very long for them to find their forever families. These 3 were part of an unexpected litter, and were surrendered to the SPCA in North Peace. These pups are cattle dog and Great Pyrenees mixes, so families should be prepared for LARGE and active dogs! We recommend looking into both breeds if you are not familiar with them. These pups would not be well suited to small apartment living, as they are both active working breeds. Texas, Montana and Tennessee are all friendly, social pups, but they can be a little shy when first meeting strangers. Future homes should be prepared to continue to grow their confidence with new and unknown things. These pups are certainly NOT going to be couch potatoes, and are very active! They would love a home that offers lots of fun things to do and exciting outdoor adventures. All three are currently learning to walk on a harness and leash, this is brand new to them! All 3 are very smart and eager to learn. Taking on a brand new puppy is a ton of work, make sure you and your family are feeling prepared by checking out our dog care guide: https://spca.bc.ca/faqs/dogs/ Want to take one of these beauties home? Please drop in to the West Vancouver SPCA during our adoption hours (12pm-3pm, closed only on Mondays) to meet one and fill out an application. OR fill out an application online! (*please note, due to a high volume of interest in puppies, applications in person will take priority) Primary Color: Red Brown Secondary Color: White Weight: 18.4 Age: 0yrs 5mths 3wks

Story

Meet our goofy little potato, Jack "Russet"! With a trusted human companion, this little adventure potato is always up for activities- be it a good game of fetch, a leisurely walk outside, or even a paddle board session on the open waters!Jack's previous family could no longer care for him, but while at home, he was always happiest spending as much time as possible with his best human friend. With that in mind, he is mostly a "one human kind of guy", and has been known to resource guard his chosen person. It can take him a bit of time to warm up to other people, so Jack will need a home environment without frequent visits or run-ins with strangers. He would be best suited to a detached home with a yard, to work on his alert-barking. Desensitization training with a patient guardian will make him feel more confident with unfamiliar people.Jack is looking for an active adult-only home, with a guardian who can work with him to grow his confidence and his trust in visitors. Once you've earned the honour of having Jack's trust, you will be rewarded with gentle hand kisses as he asks for more pets and head scritches! On top of his adorableness, Jack has quite the repertoire of tricks; he knows 'play dead', 'roll over', 'spin', and 'high-five'! What a smart boy! Jack has lived peacefully with a kitty before, so would likely be okay with a cat friend in the home. He has also met other dogs whilst here at the shelter and gets on well with them, too.If you think you can offer this gorgeous boy the loving home he deserves, fill out an application online or visit him at the shelter 12-3pm, Tuesday-Sunday. Spayed or Neutered,

Story

Meet sweetie pie Ebby! This beautiful girl sadly came from an experience of neglect, and lack of socialization and enrichment. When she and her sister first joined us, they were underweight, malnourished, and very fearful. We are so happy to see the huge improvement these lovely girls have made, both in their physical health, and emotional well-being. Ebby is a loving and playful 3 year old Bullmastiff. She is a high-energy girl, who will need a guardian who can offer her a calm demeanour and patience, while she continues to work on her commands, and fine tuning her leash-walking etiquette. Like her sister, Ebby is very food-motivated, which will be a very helpful component in her training process! This big love bug would likely do well in a home with another canine companion, after a slow introduction process is completed. She and her sister have never experienced the stability and comfort that a real, loving home offers, so they are still working on their potty-training. Due to her high energy levels, she will need a home with lots of space and outside access, and without small children. She's a very sweet gal who loves cuddles and play (and treats!), and all the affection she can get. She loves to snuggle right up to you and turn into a big puddle of love!If you're interested in giving this adorable girl the life she deserves, please contact the West Vancouver BCSPCA or drop-in and visit Tuesday-Sunday 12pm-3pm. Story

Meet Jolena! This beautiful girl sadly came from an experience of neglect, and lack of socialization and enrichment. When she and her sister first joined us, they were underweight, malnourished, and very fearful. We are so happy to see the huge improvement these lovely girls have made, both in their physical health, and emotional well-being. Jolena is an energetic and affectionate 3 year old Bullmastiff. Although she can be a bit shy of new people and surroundings, once she can tell that she's safe with a person and environment, she's just a giant love bug, and would spend all day playing and cuddling with her favourite humans. That being said, Jolena is easily excited and can get a bit over-enthusiastic with attention, so she'll need a guardian who can offer her a calm demeanor and patience, while she continues to work on her commands and fine tuning her leash-walking etiquette. Jolena is very food-motivated, which will be a very helpful component in her training process! This beautiful love bug would likely do well in a home with another canine companion, after a slow introduction process is completed. She and her sister have never experienced the stability and comfort that a real, loving home offers, so they are still working on their potty-training. Due to her high energy levels, she will need a home with lots of space and outside access, and without small children. We've also discovered through her enrichment activities that she likes to play fetch with squeaky bouncy balls! She's a lovely girl who just wants to hug and give you a smile! If you're interested in giving this adorable girl the life she deserves, please contact the West Vancouver BCSPCA or drop-in and visit Tuesday-Sunday 12pm-3pm.
